 r.  \n\nHauser (they/them) lives and works in Brooklyn and Upstate New Yor
 k\, and is represented by Derek Eller Gallery in New York City and Haverka
 mpf & Leistenschneider in Berlin. Hauser’s paintings are both graphic an
 d open to interpretation\, teetering between iconography and something fam
 iliar but abstract. This imagery shifts between omnivorous references both
  ancient and current — the paintings are mysterious talismans\, employin
 g buzzing pallets and marks that dance. Stuttering lines form a visual cod
 e like musical notes\, which coalesce with atmospheric layers to create in
 effable messages. \n\nThis event is part of the Sam Fox School’s Public 
 Lecture Series and is free and open to the public. The lecture will take p
 lace in Steinberg Hall.  \n\nFree parking is available in the East End Gar
