ESE Seminar – Innovations in PET and Molecular Imaging Technologies at Washington University
Friday, August 29, 2025 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM
About this Event
135 N Skinker Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63112, USA
##WashUESE #ImagingWashington University in St. Louis is the birthplace of positron emission tomography (PET) technology and continues to be a leader in its innovations and applications. PET is used clinically for the diagnosis of cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, cardiac diseases, etc. and to guide therapeutic interventions. It is also used preclinically to study disease models and to develop novel molecular agents for imaging and therapeutic applications. This seminar will provide a brief overview of PET and several technological advances currently happening at WashU. It will also introduce a recent technical breakthrough in another molecular imaging technology: single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) at WUSM.
