The Gulley is one of the 15 Connection Points designated by the Buder Center as mental health spaces where community members can seek out psychological safety and tranquility and reintroduce the Indigenous names and uses of the plant species. The Gulley is adjacent to Hitzeman Hall on the South 40. It acts as our own sliver of woods right on campus! In the spring, the space blossoms with crocuses and creates a wonderland to walk through. It’s a perfect hiding spot with plenty of places to sit and think.
Directions: The Gulley is adjacent to Hitzeman Hall on the South 40. From Forsyth boulevard, turn onto Wallace Drive and travel south. The Gulley is on the left side of Wallace Drive. This location is easily accessed from the DUC parking garage. There are MetroBus stops on Forsyth Blvd., and Campus Shuttle stops on Wallace Drive & on Shipley Drive.
Mindfulness Month is hosted by Mindfulness Science & Practice with support from the Incubator for Transdisciplinary Futures in collaboration with the Kathryn M. Buder Center for American Indian Studies and IDEAS at DOM.
