Join us for a campus conversation with Missouri State Representative Melanie Stinnett, exploring health care policy, advocacy, and community leadership. This event is designed to raise awareness of health care policy issues, introduce students to advocacy, and effective best practices for engagement - helping future physicians, scientists and community members develop the tools to make an impact beyond the lab and classroom. Hosted by WashU Advocates - Bears Caucus, Office of Government & Community Relations.

Speaker Information

Representative Stinnett serves as the chair of the Health and Mental Health Committee and the Higher Education and Workforce Committee, two key legislative bodies with jurisdiction over healthcare delivery and health policy, and matters impacting WashU and other colleges and universities.

In addition to her legislative duties, Representative Stinnett is a health care executive and speech-language pathologist. Over the course of her career, she has combined clinical expertise with entrepreneurial leadership, having spent many years as a small business owner before transitioning to the non-profit sector to further her commitment to community service
