This exhibition explores the extraordinary lifelong relationship of Harriet “Hattie” Hosmer, America’s pioneering female sculptor, and Cornelia “Cornie” Crow Carr, a close friend who edited Hosmer’s biography and preserved her legacy. Originating from their meeting in Lenox, Massachusetts in 1848, the show reveals their intertwined lives as a “chosen family,” set against the backdrop of 19th‑century gender norms and social expectations.
