Kathleen Goss, PhD, Senior Scientific Director, Extramural Discovery Science

Dr. Kathleen Goss joined the American Cancer Society in 2021, holding leadership roles in cancer support and partnership development before becoming senior scientific director of the extramural discovery science team in June 2024, where she now leads the career growth and research excellence program office. 

She earned her bachelor's degree in chemistry from the College of Wooster and a PhD in cell biology from Vanderbilt University. After postdoctoral training at the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Goss led cancer research programs at the University of Cincinnati and the University of Chicago, later serving as associate director for administration at the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center. 
 

Lillie Jackson, MPH, Associate Director of Cancer Center Partnerships 

Lillie Jackson earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Fisk University and a Master of Public Health from Saint Louis University. She began her career as an epidemiologist with the City of St. Louis Department of Health, later focusing on emergency preparedness and public health programming. 

Currently, Jackson serves as associate director of cancer center partnerships at the American Cancer Society, bringing extensive experience in program evaluation, health promotion, disease prevention, and cancer education. Over her career, she has held roles with institutions including WashU, Saint Louis University, University of Missouri, and BioMerieux.

As an active community leader, Jackson has served on several nonprofit boards and is a published author and researcher dedicated to advancing public health and community well-being.
