If you are free Friday, October 22 at noon, in-person or on zoom, ILS would love to see you at our discussion panel about Afghanistan. The discussion will focus on the war in Afghanistan and the effects of the US withdrawal.

The event will feature five speakers of diverse perspectives, two of whom are Joe Margulies and Megan Manion. Joe is an author, law professor at Cornell, and civil rights lawyer, and he was counsel of record for Rasul v. Bush. Megan is the legal advisor to the UN Special Rapporteur on counterterrorism and human rights and previously worked at UN Women Afghanistan.

Also contributing to the discussion are Rukhsar Azamee, who moved to the US from Afghanistan; Shane Blank, who is an Assistant United States Attorney and United States Air Force Captain (JAG); and Katie Meyer, who directs the Immigration Law Clinic at WashU.
